All of these images were shot on either 100 or 50 iso Fuji Velvia film. The square ones were shot with a Hasselblad, and the 4x5s were shot with a Toya GII rail system camera. When out in nature I prefer the fully manual, non electronic functions of these cameras. Each shot is a precious thing, so time must be taken to truly feel the emotions of the shot. Nature has always been one of my biggest inspirations for art, and I love to spend as much time as possible in it. When I shoot photographs like these I think of my favorite quote by one of my favorite photographers:
“Be still with yourself until the object of your attention affirms your presence.” – Minor White
