Monsters have been a favorite subject of mine in art since I was very young. There is something magical about the complete freedom of imagination one has when creating a monster. There are no rules about color, shape, size, or anything else, they are creatures completely born of the human mind. These particular illustrations were done for the Monster Arts Project, and blend my other love of science with art, to create the idea of color plates of species types  one might find in an old naturalist book.
